Realism and Illusion: A Solo Exhibit by Master Artist Marc Potocsky
š Naumann Gallery
š
Sunday April 12
ā° 3-5PM
Realism and Illusion serves as a comprehensive study of Potocskyās commitment to the persuasive power of surface. The collection features a diverse array of subjectsāfrom the high-octane gleam of classic automobiles and the electric energy of iconic rock stars to the delicate, anatomical precision of birds. Central to the show is Potocskyās background as a master faux painter; his technical wizardry in wood graining, marbleizing, and trompe lāoeil challenges viewers to trust their eyes while questioning the very reality of the surfaces before them. The exhibition underscores a career built on precision and patience, where every brushstroke is an exercise in intimate observation. By blurring the line between representation and perception, Potocsky transforms technical excellence into a meaningful artistic language that invites the audience to slow down and reconsider the world around them.
Art with a Purpose.
In a testament to the exhibitionās spirit of care and community, Marc Potocsky will donate an original painting to be auctioned during the event to beneļ¬t the Connecticut Cancer Foundation (CCF), providing essential ļ¬nancial assistance to Connecticut families battling cancer.
